Serviio - free DLNA media server for Windows, Mac and Linux

Media Streaming Server

Version 2.0 Released

We are pleased to announce that version 2.0 is available for download.

The main new addition (and a change) is multi-user support. Previously there were only 2 access group to manage access to your media. Now you can set up users, assign them to renderers (or use in MediaBrowser) and tune access to your media appropriately.

This is a major release and requires a new license purchase for those that already own license for v 1.x.

As always, thanks go to the testers, translators and guys helping at the forum.

Version 1.10.1 Released

A new minor version is now out. It mostly addresses a potential security issue, so we recommend everyone to upgrade.

Version 1.10 Released

We are pleased to announce that version 1.10 is available for download.

This release focuses mainly on small, but useful improvements. The display ratio has been reworked, metadata are now retrieved from the files themselves (for both, audio and video files), there is support for more file formats and also some additional profiles.

A lot of effort went to fixing playback in MediaBrowser on some platforms (like iOS).

As always, thanks go to the testers, translators and guys helping at the forum.

Alexa skill improved and available in Australia and Canada too

The Alexa skill has been improved to support playback of audio and video on the Echo devices themselves. You can now ask to play albums and songs of an artist on the device you're talking to. Video playback is also supported on Echo Show devices.

The skill is now available in UK, US, Australia, and Canada.

Alexa skill now available in US and UK

It's been a while but the Serviio Alexa skill is finally available in the Alexa skill store.

To use this skill you will need Pro edition (evaluation will not be enough) and have the remote access set up.

Check out the detailed instructions about how to use the skill.
