M4V and x265

Is there a profile setting for M4V files, as I'm not sure how to ad those to my profile,... I did ad it as a match container but its not an available option and my profile has an error and wont load.

Honestly looking for a profile for x265 as well, not sure if there is one... is there or is that not available in the program yet

ideas anyone

any input or information on where to look would be helpful

cheers all

Re: M4V and x265

just to ad to my post, i think the issues for transcoding the mentioned format and codec is all in ffmpeg itself, but im not sure how or if i can get that application to transcode those files correctly. maybe an add on to the program, a plugin, a dev build that does encode x265 and m4v files.

just brainstorming ideas here.

again any help anyone has to offer is greatly appreciated.

Re: M4V and x265

Serviio supports transcoding of mpv and h265 files out of the box if you are a windows or Mac user, and should also do so for Linux users as long as you have compiled/sourced your ffmpeg correctly.

Have a read of http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option ... icle&id=24. This should explain how to transcode h265 files (matches vcodec command). mpv files are a variant of MP4 audio files and can be transcoded by matching as if it were an MP4 file.

Re: M4V and x265

and I just noticed you were after x265.. :-)
Consider them the same thing. x265 is a software library/encoder used to encode to the h265 video standard (and just to further confuse, h265 is also called HEVC).
