MediaBrowser No support for latest version of Android

Little confused about the thinking behind the latest version of Serviio which is all about

"This includes a major MediaBrowser redesign (Pro edition only). It is now designed with a mobile-first approach making it much more usable on mobiles and tablets, is responsive and supports 'retina' displays. This has been a mojor undertaking and is just the beginning, there will be more features coming to MediaBrowser in the future."

If this is so , why is flash a major component, which is no longer available on with IOS or Android. I see there is a IOS work around but nothing for Android.

As Both Serviio and Android are from an open source back groud its appears a little strange that there is no android support??

Are there any plans to support Android in Media browser or is this confirmation that all future additions to serviio specifically exclude android users, and hence calls into question the whole Pro upgrade!!!!

Re: MediaBrowser No support for latest version of Android

MediaBrowser works on Android browsers which include flash.

Although it isn't an official app, you can also use my app ServiiGo which is effectively a native version of MediaBrowser for Android with a number of enhancements. Lots of improvements to the server go in order to further enhance ServiiGo, so Android definitely isn't being ignored.

Re: MediaBrowser No support for latest version of Android

Which browsers still support flash, non of the main ones, plus (I believe) ICS was the last version of Android to support flash to be installed.

How come the media browser works on IOS which also does not support flash. Why can this technology not be used for Android ?

Whats the recommended way to use Media browser with Kitkat ( with out forcing an old unpatchable/unsupported version of flash to be installed manually).

Whilst i accept your comments about serviioGO, this does not tell be how to use Serviio Media Browser natively.

Re: MediaBrowser No support for latest version of Android

Android doesn't support the required technologies, namely HLS streaming, so Flash is needed. Currently HTML 5 playback on Android would only be available for MP4 files with H264 and AAC, and only the original quality.
