I have a large collection of video which has the subtitles separate from the video file, in .srt files. But then when I launch the video and try to get the subtitles to play, Serviio says "No subtitles".
What am I missing here?
My current subtitles settings are:

My PC is running Serviio 1.3.1 on Windows 7, AMD quad core, discrete AMD GPU with 2GB of VRAM and 16GB of system RAM. My TV is a 2013 plasma Panasonic 50VT65 (the British model).
A file name and its path would be something like this one: H:\custom_folder\The X-Files Season 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 + Extras DVDRip HDTV TSV\Season 09\The X-Files Season 09 Episode 09 - Provenance (Part 1).avi
- try to disable embedded and burned-in subtitles - there is an error about the TV accessing the video file incorrectly, like if it was using a cache or 2 different IP addresses. Not sure if the TV has a cache, if yes, try to clean it

It makes no difference. In fact I now strongly suspect that no .srt files are even read by this TV because I have a friend who I helped setting up Serviio and he has the same issue with the same TV, the 2013 Panasonic 50VT60/65 (I have the VT65, he has the VT60 since he lives in Portugal).
How can I help you troubleshoot this further? I'm sure I can get my friend to help.
I noticed that the version 1.4 changelog says "subtitles character encoding setting is now used also when converting softsubs". Do you think one of the settings can solve my problem with the Panasonic VT65?
