Windows 2003 Server NAS Help

Hello

I have been using Serviio for quite a while on my desktop computer and I love it. It has the functionality that I require and worked with no issues.

Recently I bought a HP Media Smart Server that has Windows Server 2003 on it.

I moved my files to the NAS, and when I installed Serviio on it, each day I would have to reset the server.

I reinstalled the NAS and now have it up and running fine for several weeks.

Tonight, I put my files back on the NAS and then tried to have Serviio find them but it would not.

I then mapped a network drive and told Serviio that the files where here, but it still does not find them.

Any help would be appreciated as to how I can either:

1. Put serviio back on the NAS and have it not stall out the server once a day, or
2. Allow serviio to see the files on the NAS while running from my home computer.

Many thanks

Stephen

Re: Windows 2003 Server NAS Help

Is the media server the NAS or is the old PC serving as the NAS ?

Serviio is running fine for me under Server2003, standard edition...it has no trouble accessing files locally or online.

My only 'issue is the TuneIn plugin doesn't seem to like server 2003 (I am going to play with this some more)

I have not tried using mapped drives for Serviio to access, and I am not sure why you need to reset Serviio, but I suspect some kind of memory leak..are there any additional but non-essential services running (wireless, computer browser etc) ? Printer driver ? Check system resources before you reboot and see how much memory is left ..

Be sure to run the Microsoft updates, of course..

Re: Windows 2003 Server NAS Help

Any development on this ??

FWIW, I removed the tune in plugin, restarted the server, then installed the same plugin, and the tunein under server 2003 works fine..

Return to NAS installation
