TV cannot see the server

Hi everybody!

I am trying to use serviio for share media files between the computer and my new Samsung UE32D5000 :D , but I cannot see the server from TV.

After installing serviio on windows XP, I set a fix IP address for TV and I can see the TV by 'ping' from PC, but ... when I include the IP adress on serviio console and set the profile like "Samsung C-D Series", it appears with yellow dot and TV can't connect with server.
I don't know if I have to set the IP address of media server in TV options, I don't see any option to do this. By the moment I have TV IP fixed and computer IP given by router's DHCP.

Please, anybody can help me?

Special very thanks.

Re: TV cannot see the server

when you bind to the PC's IP address and it then get a different one from DHCP it won't work. Fix both, TV and the PC. Other than that there are lots or similar threads to get help from.

Re: TV cannot see the server

Thanks for answering,

I did it (2 IP addresses fixed) and I have the same problem. In other way I installed Serviio on my netbook with Windows 7 (connected to LAN with same wireless router), and casually when I was going to open the Serviio Console ... I see the TV connected with green dot status ... what surprise!
I turned off the server in netbook and try again after reboot in PC, there isn't any change. I turned off Window's firewall and antivirus software, but I don't get anything. Has anybody a good idea/reason to explain the 'NO visibility' between TV and PC w/XP? If it serves to find a reason, I have the same problem with Samsung's AllShare software, the netbook works fine and PC can't see TV.

Thanks again.
P.D.: Sorry by my English, it isn't very good.

Re: TV cannot see the server

Is 192.168.1.252 the fixed IP of the PC?

also there is an error message about it not being able to advertise itself. Possibly multicast is not enabled on your NIC or network (router)?

Hi again,

Yes, the fixed PC IP is 192.168.1.252.
Over multicast, I will check router options and change this if it proceeds, but I don't believe it causes the problem because in that case it doesn't work anyway with my netbook. Netbook and PC are connected to LAN with same wireless router, then I think the problem it's on PC.

Thank you again.

Re: TV cannot see the server

One more question ... the multicast can depend on the OS in use? In that case, where's the option/s to enable/disable this in Windows XP?

EDIT: I have checked router options and I have multicast enabled ... I'm lost :(, the only one thing I can do it's format PC and come to begin ...

Thank you all.
