Serviio console not starting

I am having the same problem but I installed the console on other computer and it keep telling me that cannot connect to serviio serer it does not seem to be running so I edit the bat file with my IP address to the other computer and it keep saying the same the

I've not seen a solution to this, though I've seen one or two people say they got it working.

Works fine one my home computer and i love it, so, I was trying to set up for my brother in law. I made sure he had the java 6 update 30, though the log seems to say 18. His computer is windows 7, 64. I know the service is running b/c I can see it on my phone and from their blu-ray player. The serviio console icon is in the start menu, but nothing in the system tray. When i click on the start menu and the console icon, I get the User Account Control window popup asking if i want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer (this does not happen on my home computer) and i click "yes". The screen clears and nothing happens. I made sure serviio is allowed in the firewall and really have no idea of how to get this to work. Also, I did try right clicking the start menu icon and clicking open, but it gave me the same results. I tried the same thing through the folder and no luck. Below is the log. UPDATE: I solved this by installing the 64 Bit version of Java

I have the exact same problem, and while I am not in the mood to re-install windows 8 on a brand new (less than 3 weeks) PC, I am determined to get serviio working.

I struggled with it, and finally got it working, loaded some movies and some music. I was then about to attempt live feeds when the console stopped working.

I try to open (in adminstrator) but no dice. When I look at the PC processes, it says its running.

I am running a synology NAS (as server) and Windows 8 (as console).

I cannot access the console via my android app either, but can access the media browser and play the music on several devices and even outside the network. Unfortunately with the console no longer appearing to open (no error messages recieved, just fails to open) its impossible to add media files etc.

The weird thing is I made no system changes between it working and not.

I have loaded both Java 6 and 7, have the latest serviio software and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FYI, just resolved this issue. My browser, firefox, was blocking the Java when I tried to open the synology console. I could still see the UI for the synology but there was a small red thing flashing to the left of the address bar. When I clicked on this, told me that it was blocking java, so I told it to allow it and hey presto my serviio console now works! amazing (not sure why this is a problem, but just in case anyone else has the same problem.

Now to get live streaming working and I'll be happy.

Hi, I was having the same issue but I solved it by right clicking the "Start Serviio Service" and excecuting it as administrator, then I was able to run the console. Hope it helps.
