New User - Hello!
Just wanted to say 'Hello'.
Played around for ages with various DLNA server products and so far (2 days!) I have to say Serviio is awesome, best of the bunch, holds fantastic promise. What can I say? I'm very impressed.

Initially installed Serviio on a laptop, played with it a bit, had an immediate good experience and then installed it on my Homeserver.
This is my set up.
HP Microserver
Running Windows Home Server (WHS 2011)
Ethernet LAN is via 200mb Homeplug
DLNA Device - Panasonic Viera TX=L32D28BP
Other devices on LAN mixture of laptops and desktops running Win7, Vista and XP.
Serviio 'seen' on all devices - it is just 'there'.
Plays all native Pansonic formats fast, stutter free, and intuitively. Smaller MKV files (using Panasonic Viera profile) transcodes just fine. This was my key 'ask' for a DLNA server. Most other DLNA servers are overly complicated, or simply do not work as described. So big plus for Serviio.
Couple of quick 'issues' I see with Serviio.
1. Transcoding very large MKV files (I tried 12gb 1080 files!

2. The menu items under 'Audio' is a bit sparse. Specifically it is missing 'Albums'' being my preferred navigation method. I read that Serviio somewhere else (on this forum) that Serviios may implement that. For now I will have to use WMP for Audio which is a bit of a shame.
Looking forward to implementation of Live Streaming (e.g. BBC iPlayer etc).
Have not tried 'Image' yet. Need to import (into my server) many tens of thousands of images. I hope Serviio will transcode RAW image files to JPG. Most of my images are held in Nikon NEF raw format.
Anyway - HELLO - I am VERY impressed with Serviio. Would be happy to pay for the product, it is awesome that it is free.
cheers
Edward
