Internet on Sony 40EX700

Hello,

I'am using shortly serviio in combination with a wireless network. And it is great watching movies directly from the laptop on the TV.
But is it also possible to get the laptop display on TV ?

Re: Internet on Sony 40EX700

With the same Sony 40EX700 my PC is connected by cable-PLC-Router to TV. It finds properly the files but when playing the image freezes every 2 minutes and sometimes says that he cannot find server.
¿What can I do?
Thank you in advance

What is the model or bandwidth of your PLC?
Is it 85Mbps or 200Mbps?
Kutusov wrote:It finds properly the files but when playing the image freezes every 2 minutes and sometimes says that he cannot find server.

Is it for all video, or only a few?
If only a few, check the video bitrate of the video file with Video Bitrate Viewer tool.
The video bitrate must be <20-25Mbps for Sony EX700 device.

PLC 200Mbps
It's for all video, not for a few.

Check Network or CPU usage (performances) with Windows task manager...

Re: Internet on Sony 40EX700

CPU use seems to be normal.

When image freezes local area usage drops to 3-4% . I see no reason to freeze ¿Maybe some software problem? If I pause in the TV and play again, it continue to play another minute or two, but is not nice to see a film in that way.
Any further suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

This seems to really be a limitation of the network or the CPU.
Are the files stored locally on the PC (C: or D:)?

Try this test :
- Start the film
- Wait some minute (2mn)
- Press "return".
- Wait some time (10mn, for ffmpeg/serviio to create the whole temp file)
- Restart the same film (must restart at the previous 2mn point) and check if stuttering appears.

Also could you enable detailed logging file (see signature) and find the ffmpeg command line used when you start the film?

yes. 192.168.1.33 is Bravia TV KDL-40EX720

The other devices sincerely I don't know what they are. Perhaps other apple PCs, Iphone... Don't know.
If I clean them from the serviio pannel?

Into Serviio console, try with IP bounds to 192.168.1.2, save and restart Serviio services.

Re: Internet on Sony 40EX700

sry illico to jump ion on one of your help thread but to me this seem like a network issue and not serviio as it disconnects after 2 mins and is likely to be the router buffering out as it can cope with teh demands of a video stream, i would suggest connect the TV and pc directly via network cable and see if it still buffers out, if it does then it will be your router at fault as i suspect and you will need to buy a decent brand name router to solve this issue ( belkin, netgear or cisco ) id also recommend a GB lan one as that will improve communication for the router and help prevent buffering out.

Thanks for the sufggestion Cerberus. I will try with a direct RJ45 (I need to buy one). The router and PLCs give me 35MB of speed, and is the router that provides my cable company. Other way maybe the sony wifi adaptor to connect with the PC but I don't want to spend 80€ if I can avoid it.

speed isnt everything it also through put. say a road has speed limit of 70MPH but there 1000 cars on it no way will they be able to travel at 70MPH as road would be to conjested and grind to a halt. :)

Yes try with a direct RJ45 is a good test.
PLC @35MB is too short for HD contain.
Personally, before hard wired all my home network in RJ45, I used PLC @200Mps and it works.
