Serviio has stopped auto refreshing libraries.

I can add files to a folders and it doesn't auto refresh the library. I can even force a refresh but when I check on my TV (LG and Sony if that is relevant) it doesn't show under folders. Sometimes it shows under last added though.

Maybe something just got scrambled or corrupted?

Re: Serviio has stopped auto refreshing libraries.

I don't think it's specifically Serviio. I've noticed the same thing start on my computer, and I'll place the blame for mine on Microsoft with their latest update. I changed the library location to use the Poller option and that resolved the issue.

Since there hasn't been any update to Serviio in some time, I can't see how it could suddenly stop monitoring the library location. Perhaps Mint also issued an update that changed something about the way that Serviio was monitoring the library location.

Thanks for that. I'll give that a try. I did think of the Mint upgrade possibility but I thought the corruption of a Serviio file sounded more feasible somehow.

Re: Serviio has stopped auto refreshing libraries.

So I have a question here, with the latest version of Serviio there's no option for polling anymore, just keep the library updated and force refresh.
When I have the console open it automatically updates the library. When I close the console (as in exit the process, the server is still running but the console is not), it doesn't update the library.

Does the console need to be running to update the library? If yes, then how can I minimize the console to the system tray. If not, what could be the reason for it no updating the library when the console is closed? Is there supposed to be come scheduled task running?

Yes, the latest version of Serviio still offers polling. It's in the settings for each library location, not a system-wide setting. So if you have multiple library locations (like I do) you need to activate polling on each one.

No, the console does not need to be running for the libraries to refresh.

Re: Serviio has stopped auto refreshing libraries.

Not sure if this is the same problem buy on my LG TV with Roku OS new files aren't seen in a folder until I navigate out of the folder, play something briefly from a different folder and then go back to the first folder. Say you put movies in one folder and TV shows in another and seperate TV shows into sub folders. If you add a new TV show while you are viewing the content (using Roku Media Player app), the new files don't show up until I navigate to the Movies folder, play something for a couple seconds then navigate back to the TV show folder. Probably to do with the Roku player app not requesting a DLNA refresh or something but I can't just play something in the TV subfolder I was sitting in originally, I have to navigate somewhere else for this to work. This has been the case for a long time though, it's not recent.

If I open the Roku web console, I get the popups showing new file additions etc as soon as I open the console, I don't need to manually force the refresh. I'm on the latest 2.5 pro version.

LG has no TVs that use the Roku OS. They have their own proprietary OS they simply call 'WebOS". You must be using a Roku player connected to your TV. And the Roku Media Player app is garbage I'm sorry to say. It hasn't been updated for video playback in over 5 years, and has many issues.
