I am new to this and I was wondering if someone with more experience would know better than me how to create a profile for an x280n. I have the formats it can handle as well as a link to the website that shows the specs. The website is easier to read and can be found http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01473471&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3724770 Text copied and pasted from the site is below.

This document pertains to the HP x280n MediaSmart Connect.
HP MediaSmart TVs and devices share digital media files with UPnP-compliant media servers, including home computers with Windows Media Player. This document provides some brief codec fundamentals and a detailed list of all the media files and codecs supported by HP MediaSmart.
Supported Media Files for MediaSmart

NOTE:Some files supported by MediaSmart cannot be shared through Windows Media Player alone. To view all the supported file types be sure to install the MediaSmart software using the Installation CD.

NOTE:This device supports the codec file formats listed herein, however HP cannot guarantee full compatibility or proper playback with all such codec files due to modifications and/or other variations that may occur with the end-user's encoded codec files.

First select "generic profile" (default) on the serviio console and with samples check which file format are supported in native format.

My main concern was playing MKV files as that wrapper is not recognized by the HP. From what I understood of the profiles when going through the profiles file the Samsung TV (B-type) had similar abilities so I changed the profile from generic to Samsung, that got the files playing. When I have more time to learn I will create a profile that is more specific to the needs of my device.

4 years!

Anyway, your x280n can connect to Serviio?
What version of Serviio?
I'll roll back.
1.4.1.2 doesn't connect, pro or free version?
