Serviio

Hey there,

I'm new to Serviio, so may be this is already solved/discussed.
I'm searching for a way to present metadata on a Android-DMC (App).
The best I could get so far is that I see covers on a DMC (BuppleUpnp).
But i would also like to see all the Metadata infos which are stored as fanart and .nfo files within a movie folder.
Generally I need something like ServiiGo but with the possibility to send a movie/picture/track to a different renderer.
Or am I doing something wrong with the settings that I don't see the infos within a dmc (I tried several).

Serviio doesn't send all the metadata via DLNA, only title, genre, thumbnail and summary, if I remember correctly. That's still 3 fields more than the other servers

Ok, wenn Serviio is submitting the metadata (most important are summary and thumbnail) already, why can't i see them ?
Can you name an app which shows them ?

Thumbnail - most of them do I think. Summary - I'm not sure.

For my Panasonic TV, I see the name, file type (MKV just says video), thumbnail and movie length. My Sony boxes, just the name. I do not get summary on any of them. Wish I did, especially the TV episodes.

Thats what I meant. My Blueray player even doesn't show an thing (except the Name of course). Besides that, controlling everything via an APP is pretty nice. But a controller with tha abilities linke ServiiGo would be awesome.
Meanwhile I found Upnpplay which closer to what I want.
Amy other ideas ?

I think it mostly depends on the abilities of the player. I can see alot of details on my xbox but the same movies on my philips TV just show the filename and that's it. Despite that fact that there is a big blank spot where the thumbnail should be. I believe that different players have different expectations on how the meta data is presented and a majority of the time the data on how an individual device processes meta data isn't published.

Thats why I'm talking about a controller (aka DMC) APP for Android. When I could see everything on my tablet I don't need to see it in the OSD of my player.

I think Will might be planning to add controller capabilities to ServiiGo at somepoint.

This would be great.
But .... as I read in the corresponding threat (don't exactly where it was) he's actually not planing to do it. It seems to be much work to integrate the upnp stuff.
For me it is obvious that this would be a great step forward for his APP. But maybe I'm the only one who needs this ?
From my point of view a single controller for all audio/video/picture stuff would be really cool.
So for now ..... does anyone know an android APP which comes near that ?
As I already wrote UpnPlay is the only APP which shows the cover+summary. But it's interface isn't nice and the covers are very small.
So suggestions are welcome.
