As per the title...Thinking about rebuilding my HTPC but Seviio is something I use alot. Has anyone installed Serviio and got it working on an OpenELEC build?
Thanks,
Chris

You want Serviio running to serve media to what end device? Not sure I see why you would want to do this... Xbmc has a good DLNA server built in and plugins. Anyway, not sure its been done as seems like it wouldn't be needed but please explain

I am interested to install Serviio on Openelec , for transcoding/profile . I have tried Serviio on W7, and I was impressed by the results. Unfortunatly, XBMC don't provide this feature (transcoding) and my TV support some of video encoding, but not all.

So you using OpenElec / XMBC to serve media to your smart tv rather than using it to direct play the files ?
If you using it as a DLNA media server only you'd be better off running a server with e.g Ubuntu + Serviio ? Rather than serviio + OE just to serve up media.

Sorry , I am not clear . I have 2 TV: One connected to OE with HDMI, and a second one where I want to play files with the DLNA player.
OE works fine on my HTPC (boot, front end..) and I imagined to add seviio on it.

You need to find a guide to installed Java on OE as you'll need that as a base layer.
You might be better off running XBMC over Ubuntu so you have a full OS for setting everything else up but XBMC on autostart so you get the equivalent of OE

Thank you for your suggestion. I have already installed java, launched Serviio 1.2.1 with serviio.sh script and set up path to local video files with console (remote).
I will test this configuration ( Ubuntu + Serviio) soon.
