hi there,

at the moment a setup a pc und a samsung tv for a friend. for test i installed serviio on my personal pc, and it wirks fine

i run ubuntu 10.10 on it, and i can see all the videos, photos and here the music via the new tv UE37D5000

so far so good :-)

on my friends computer , running linux-Mint 12, connected to the lan in the same way, no firewall is active
it is recognized on the tv by the allShare and I see some folders, but only folders!

i tried this and that, but nothing helps
my latest trial was to export the root folder as a serviio lib - the strange sthing is that I the only folders I can see on the tv
are

/
/etc/
/proc/

thats all!

what can I do?
I would be verry peased if someone could help me
if more informations needed please write me

hoping the best

stefan

by zip
probably access rights to the folders/files. Must be readable by the user running the serviio process.

Thanks for reply!

I checked all the rights and they seem to be ok
for example this i got with ls -a -l

-rwxr-xr-x 1 stefan stefan 738187264 2008-01-05 00:11 Fargo.1996.German.DVDRip.XviD.avi

is this right? -i think yes

is there a possibilty to run the server in verbose mode or to make him logging some things?
or can I check my java version (but the server runs and also the console :| so my java cant't be so wrong

or do you have an other idea what to check why the server is not working correct, as expected

Yahoo

one who is able to read has a clear advantage ;-)

I read the page of zip and there was the hint, to enable logging!!
after enabling logging I saw that there have been a lot of errors about ffmpeg
I checked, I thought it was allready installed but it was not!
I installed and now I can see my films on the tv!!

sorry for my stupid question

bye
