One Happy User..

Hi,

I know there are a lot of threads on here with people saying thanks, but I thought I'd add another. I've been annoyed for a while that my shiney new Panasonic Viera internet TV only has iPlayer for catch-up TV. It came to a head this week when my PVR didn't record an episode of Homeland on Channel 4 and I was resigned to either missing it or watching on the laptop. This all coincided with me getting a new laptop which found the telly on the LAN, which got me thinking..

Few minutes googling and I downloaded Serviio and the 4OD plugin, let it set for a couple of mins and hey presto, I can stream Homeland to my TV. Absolutely perfect - and a doddle to set up as well. I have a QNAP which I use to serve music and photos to the telly, but the set up of Serviio was a darned sight easier!

Thanks for a great product and plugin. :D

Re: One Happy User..

Here's another one

I tried, and the word fits perfectly in this occasion, to use the ALLSHARE samsung software for my 32'' D550 LCD.
But it has problems scanning the folders for changes, ant the server consumes an enormous amount of RAM and CPU.

So I install serviio, witch I knew about it before, but I guessed it was difficult.
BUT in 10 minutes (counting setup) I was watching a series in my TV.

Keep up the good work, the software is great

I was looking for a donate button, but read elsewhere its been removed, which is a shame. Something this good deserves a donation.

You could always help other people that have problems getting it to work, or if a friend or family is looking for a media streamer.

Yep, fair point! I'll keep an eye on the forums and see if my limited knowledge is of any use :-)
