serviio loses connection

Hi.
First off: Great program! -and evenmore with the latest update :-)

my issue is that playback (video) sometimes is lost during playback. I don't really know if the problem is serviio or my router or sony bravia tv. It just says "lost connection with server"
I'm streaming from a lenovo g550 (2.1 ghz pentium dual core, 3 gigs ram) through my wireless router (zyxel p-260 hn-f1) to my Sony Bravia tv. (Kdl-40ex500 using wireless dongle). My flat is rather small so there's no more than 6 meters from my laptop to the wireless router and to the tv. I suspect that it may be my router that causes the problem, because the serviio console shows a red dot next to my bravia profile in the 'status' window when i check the console after lost connection.

i hope you can help resolve this issue. thanks in advance

Look at this post. http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2439. See if any of your neighbors are on the same channel as you. Try a hardwire connect and make sure everything works correctly then.

What is the make and model of your router.

my router is a Zyxel, model P-2601HN-F1.

I notice it's more frequent when watching movies. About halfway into the movie the connection usually is lost. Could it be a buffer problem of some sorts? Watching single episodes of a tv series is no problem.

I ran the InSsider program, but it showed no inteference from my neighbours. Actually i seem to be the only one on my block using these channels (3+7)

Would a static ip address maybe better the situation?

ive tried playing around with the advanced settings on my wireless card ( intel 5100 agn) but with no luck. does QoS settings have a say in this?

thanks

Yes static would be better. Also please attach your serviio.log file so we can check if for problems

QOS should be disabled.

it works now!

ok. It seems to be the static ip that did the trick.

I have Qos enabled, but apparently it doesn't effect the process.

soemthing else i noticed, and this also was the case when i tried out mezzmo: Video and audio slowly goes out of sync. When i pause and start playback again, it's in sync again. usually this is mostly when watching movies. no biggy, just thought i'd mention it.

Thanks so much!

and again, BEST media server out there! Love how it automatically allocates series and movies in separate folders.

i have tried attaching the log file for reference, but i get "the extension1 is not allowed"

Sometimes an out of sync problem is due to a bad video frame that causes the audio to get out of sync. By stopping the video it sync the audio and video again. The next video that you notice that does this, check the video for bad frames or errors and see if this is the cause.
