Any software based DLNA clients supported/tested?

I was wondering if there is a way to test the server via a software based DLNA client. I can see it on my Windows Media Play on another machine, but it's setting it to be a "Generic Profile" and won't play any Videos streams or files.

Has anyone tried it with one? I was going to play around with XBMC, but it doesn't seem to run on my Windows 2008 box. I will have to setup a Windows 7 image to test it I guess.

WMP is NOT dlna complient (microsoft didnt follow the DLNA standard ) the two best are XBMC and the client that comes in the intel tool package ( i forget the name).

I figured XBMC was a good choice, will try that out on another image. I do have those Intel tools downloaded, didn't see anything that will actually play something....just browse. I guess I should look through everything installed.

I just want to use Serviio on my non connected TV upstairs...hopefully XBMC will work out.

Thanks,
