WD TV live hub support

Hi ppl,
I'm currently thinking of replacing my PS3 with a more dedicated streamer in the form of a WD TV live hub, and would like to be able to rid myself of other DLNA servers (namely PMS) and stick with Serviio. Tried looking on this forum for some information about how the WD TV works with Serviio. Stuff like fast forwarding, seeking, subtitle support, etc. I know most of the time it's the client that is incompatible, not the server (Samsung TV seek, PS3 subtitles, etc), but would like to understand how these two integrate.
Anyone out there who can shed some light? General feedback on the WD TV is welcome as well.
Thanks!
EDIT: I understand that the WD TV live hub can also access windows/NFS shares, but that room isn't wired yet, and I'm not sure how well it will stream from such shares over wireless.

That's going to be a problem, cause I have a projector in that room, not a TV

Is the WD streamer that bad?

From what I read WDTV is very good and plays almost everything natively.

Unfortunately, there seem to be a lot of
bad feedback regarding the WDTV's reliability and stability

Some of it is pretty recent, so it doesn't seem to be an issue just with old firmware versions.
Looking into that SNP-N200, there's a confusing range of mixed reviews. Many are saying it does not stream well and that it is not compatible with media types it is supposed to work with (at least according to Sony's specs), some claim that the N100 actually worked better, and I am worried that like the PS3 it will require transcoding for subs to work (which AFAIR, does not work with Serviio/FFmpeg).
Why does finding a decent streamer have to be so hard?

Just wanted to clarify that my frustration is not directed at Serviio or anyone here. Serviio is definitely the best DLNA server I ever came across, and I think I've tested almost anything out there...
Simply frustrated with the plethora of half-baked streamers on the market.
Thanks for your input!

I am using a WDTV Live Plus with Serviio in a wired network, and have no problems with streaming from my home network, even 1080p 12GB movies. I have flashed the WDTV Live Plus with WDLXTV-Plus Homebrew firmware so that movie sheets are displayed for selected movies. The movie sheets are also displayed when Serviio is selected as a server, but only when in folder view. My main reason for still keeping Serviio id that I can list movies by other criteria, such as genre, actors, etc. This is a very nice feature, even if the movie sheets do not display in that mode. The other reason is that WDTV has problems connecting to network shares, but has no problems whatsoever seeing serviio or accessing the shares via using Xmount.

I have a WDTv Live Plus, and not a hub. Also, I have flashed my unit with a homebrew firmware 1.05.04_B-WDLXTV-Plus-0.5.1.1. This firmware is available at forum.wdlxtv.com website. I don't think the homebrew firmware is compatible with WDTV Live Hub. Google WDLXTV for more info.
