Re: On an Android device (phone/tablet) how intensive is it

Power draw will come from two parts
1) Streaming the file over your network using wifi to get it onto your device
2) Decoding and playing back the video (+ having the screen on)

So it will be more intensive that watching a video that is already on the device.

What do you mean more than wifi? More than watching a youtube video over wifi? - probably about the same.

I stream TV episodes approx 42 minutes to my droid X all the time and can watch 2-3 at least before having to charge my droid.

one thing that I like about the android setup, is that I can download the stream to the droid and watch it later.
