Serviio with Home Theather 5.1 and movis mkv? Is Possible?

So far I'm running Serviio with only my TV, or be, sound is stereo.

But I'm looking for a home theather to watch my movies through Serviio, then I'd like to know if is possible I can watch my videos using the 5.1 of AC3 or DTS of movies mkv? Is possible transmit 5.1 using network cable?

Do I need do some special type connection between home theather and TV?

it is possible. you probably have to connect the TV's optical audio out to the receiver - that's how I got it working

I was thinking use optical connection, but I was not sure...

And about home theather, I didn't understand why all the expensive Home theather don't have dvd player, like JLD, Pionner and others... unlike the philips, lg and others cheapers.
