My experience - WDTV (WDLxTV) + wireless + HD

Hi all

New user here!

Thought I'd share some new insights and the way I have been using this handy tool.
So far I'm loving it. I am using a WDTV Live with upgraded firmware (B-Rad: http://forum.wdlxtv.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=3974)

So far Serviio has solved a problem I was having with streaming 720p through Wireless. Without it, I'd have the file stuttering all over the place. So thanks for this!

The overall file management is great as well, the layouts and stuff. All great (I've tried several and this one really is the best and easiest to use!)
I had some troubles at first trying to get everything to work, but all that was solved with some basic troubleshooting.

The only thing wrong for me atm is .srt subtitles. They just won't work. I actually haven't tried any other form of subtitles so I won't be able to say if others do work).
Normally, it works without a charm. Don't know if any of you are familiar with the WDTV but if you just go through USB HDD connect, it works without a hitch. Also streaming through "network devices" it is without problems.

After looking in these here forums I didn't really come up with a solution, and I didn't find any threads with people mentioning they used the WDLxTV (again, upgraded firmware) so maybe the problem lies in the combination/compatibly with Serviio an WDLxTV.

Don't know if there is much I can do to help investigate the reason why, but thought I'd mention it.

Anyway, thanks for the great tool, I'm recommending it to my friends.

Hi Zip,

Yes, I am using the WDTV Live profile, also tried different stuff like Generic, or Samsung / LG player (because .srt is supported with those, I thought, what the hell) but no success.

moltra,
I'll check this out.

Thanks for the replies.

Open a new topic in the Support forum and post detailed log there of when you play the file.
