Contents of Movie folder not available

I have a Sharp 60" Aquos, using DLNA and Serviio. I have two separate hard drives on my computer - one for TV series and one for Movies. I think i haev the library setup correctly in Serviio - added E:\TV and D:\Movies. My tv sees the Movie folder, but not the contents (mkv files). I moved an mkv movie file to the TV folder, and it played flawlessly.

On the Status tab, I see my TV listed with IP Address 192.168.1.4, using the Sharp Aquos profile. Anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

I've had Serviio installed for over a week though - had these two drives shared in the library that long.

Re: Contents of Movie folder not available

check you entered the address of the drive correctly, (if its a network drive UNC urls are required as mapped drive wont work) and that the user serviio is running on has access to the drive.

I've checked the share status of both drives, and they are identical - share is available to everyone and administrators. I've tried adding the folder by "Add Local" and "Add Path" - doesn't seem to make a difference.

Re: Contents of Movie folder not available

These are SATA internal drives installed in my computer. My computer sees them as D: and E: drives. My TV sees the Movies folder for D:\Movies, but there nothing listed. My E:\TV folder works great! Much better than Windows Media Player! Thanks.

Re: Contents of Movie folder not available

on the link above #3 Download Intel UPnP tools and run AV Media Controller. Select Serviio and try to find the file you're looking for using this tool's browsing function. If the file is there it means Serviio registered the file byt for some reason your device doesn't display it. This could be due to the fact your device doesn't support the format or it does but doesn't understand the format in the way Serviio is serving it (this could be fixed by creating a Profile for the device)

The folder exists in AV Meida Controller but it's empty.

What's really strange, i decided to move a movie from the D:\Movies folder to just D:\ and add D:\ to the library, and it appeared and played! how strange. For some reason, Serviio just doesn't like my D:\Movies folder. What's even stranger, D:\ is not shared - D:\Movies is though. E:\ is not shared either, but E:\TV is - and all my series folders show up under E:\TV.

At least Serviio sees my movies now - can't figure out why the folder thing doesn't work though. :(

Re: Contents of Movie folder not available

The folder doesn't have to be shared (as in Windows shared), but everybody has to have read access (security tab in the folder's properties)

Re: Contents of Movie folder not available

Have you heard of problems like mine before? Why can't I have a subfolder named "Movies" and add it to my library? I checked the Log file, and didn't see any of my movies listed there.
