Stream to Sony Bravia KDL24EX320

I have a wifi system using a standard PC, Virgin Superhub, Win 7 64, WMP 12 streaming to Sony Bravia TV. Most videos work fine with WMP12 but wmv files get "Playback Not Available". Have installed Serviio. If I uncheck transcoding in Serviio, I get the same error message. If I check transcoding, I get either sound alone or nothing at all, just the small spinning loading icon on the tv. In the status tab, the Sony TV is green and profiled correctly. The library shows the video file icons fine on the tv. Have I missed something obvious? Is there a way to get Serviio to get a wmv video file streamed correctly to a Bravia set? Thanks.
