File access to network drives in Linux Mint

I have tried several methods to get serviio pro 1.4.1.2 to scan shared folders on a linux mint file server.

When I enter the address Serviio changes it.
If I enter //server/folder it puts /server/folder and gives me it doesn exist or can't be accessed due to rights issue error
if I enter \\server\folder it adds the current path /home/marvin/Serviio/bin/\\server\folder and same error.
I have also tried the actual names and lowercase names. same error.

I currently have the folders mounted as network drives on my serviio server machine.

I've read the FAQ and it only talks about Windows users or using the UNC name which in not helpful.
I have scoured the forums and online and everyone talks about windows services.

my username/passwords are the same on the server and the remote machine I am trying to scan.

Re: File access to network drives in Linux Mint

Are you using ServiioConsole on the Linux side as well? Or web ui? Or Console remotely on Windows?

Is Serviio running on the linux server too? Or is it a different (Windows?) machine?

Re: File access to network drives in Linux Mint

So I am running console on the server and trying to add the folders.
I am also running console from a windows box but am unable to add the folders. (keeps trying to use S: Drive)

If I run console on my second linux box (pointed to the server) and add the local paths would that work?
