Character Set in nfo files

I was unsatisfied with the Samsung AllShare DLNA Server and searched for alternatives and found Serviio. Thanks a lot for this great piece of software :)

I started to create nfo files to add title and genre information to my movie files as described in this wiki (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=NFO_files), but after 2 days of library updates there were still some movies missing. After reading the serviio log file I found out, that my nfo files had the wrong character set in the title and/or genre tag. Because I'm german I had to use the german umlaute (äöü), for example "Komödie" (engl. comedy). The media extractor wrote some exception error message in the log, when I used some of those umlaute characters. So I tried UTF8 as a valid character set and that works, although there is no hint about that in this wiki.

I thought that might be a useful hint for others.

Suggestion: Can we please have another library status "no. of libary update errors" or something like this in the console frontend? I don't want to read the log files every time ;)

Du musst nfo Dateien selbst erzeugen und diese in UTF8 Zeichensatz speichern (siehe Wiki Link in vorherigem Post). Am Besten du benutzt einen Texteditor, der das kann, z.B. Notepad++.

You have to create your own nfo Files and save them in UTF8 character set (see wiki link in previous post). You can use Notepad++ as a good Texteditor for that.
