I am an also administrator on my MacBook Pro. However, if I delete the serviio applications and install them again I must temporarily set the Gatekeeper setting to "always".

Do you still plan to update serviio applications so that they "play nice" with Mountain Lion Gatekeeper?

Probably at some point yes, it's not a massive priority at the moment if there is a workaround.

Hello,
After I upgraded to Mountain Lion, serviio starts fine and my 2012 Bravia connects to it and I can browse my library. But when I want to play a video file I get "cannot access server". Any idea what might be causing this? It used to work fine with Snow Leopard before and I haven't touched my network or router settings since then. I have enabled "run programs from anywhere" but as I said it serviio process has already been running.

Re: Serviio no working on Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8)

Ok, so the problem was that Serviio was not able to create the temp folder for transcoding after I upgraded to 10.8 from 10.6 snow leopard.

2012-08-23 18:13:16,799 ERROR [ResourceTransportRequestHandler] Error while processing resource, sending back 500 error. Message: Cannot create transcoding folder: /var/folders/Yu/YuVsZlrCGa0MHXekvxtrv++++TI/-Tmp-/Serviio
java.io.IOException: Cannot create transcoding folder: /var/folders/Yu/YuVsZlrCGa0MHXekvxtrv++++TI/-Tmp-/Serviio

Fixed this by creating a tmp folder and updating the transcoding folder location. I'm wondering if other people who did the OS X upgrade had the same issue. Anyway, thanks for a great product, I use it everyday to stream stuff to my tv.
