Hello, all!
I've installed Serviio 1.0.1 on NAS WDMyBookLive. Everything is great except the a.m. question.
Folders and files with cyrillic names are not scanned.
I've got over 40 000 mp3's with cyrillic names so I cant just rename files and folders.
Please help me.
Thanks

i have read the FAQ and i don't see any acknowledgement of this issue, unless you mean the brief mention of UTF-8.

when setting up serviio, it took a while before i realized that the cause of the premature end of the initial library scan was the presence of cyrillic characters in metadata. it might save users some frustration if you were to mention this problem somewhere.

of course, since i am the recipient of your generosity in this excellent free software, i can hardly complain about anything.

I'm not sure about a NAS installation, but with Linux I needed to export locale environment variables in my /etc/init.d/serviio script (i.e. export LC_ALL=en_NZ.UTF-8). This can be set elsewhere though. Without this, files with greek characters were skipped.

Any fixes or workaround? Two years gone but folders with cyrillic symbols are still unavailable. :(

If you are on Linux, you have to set up your Locale to be UTF-8, as per the FAQ. If you're on Windows it should work
