Hello,

I have a bunch of videos recorded in ProRes from my iPhone (15 pro max)

Also some without ProRes

the 3 without ProRes appear as *.mov.mp4 in the DLNA Players, or the web console
the other WITH prores do not show at all

I have just updated to the latest version of Serviio (2.4). what am I missing?

Thanks
Stefan

You have not missed anything. When a player feels a video cannot be played it isn't displayed. I'm unfamiliar with ProRes, but my guess is the video codec is different from a standard MOV or MP4, and your players don't know how to play it. I don't believe there's anything Serviio can do to "make" them playable, other than determining if transcoding the video is possible. Again, I don't know what the codec looks like so I don't even know if it's something that Serviio can recognize for transcoding.

Sometimes unplayable files can be seen through the Folders presentation, so you might browse to the folder they're in and see if they appear. When you mention the web console, I assume you are referring to MediaBrowser. Since they don't appear there either, then Serviio can't figure out how to play them.

I just did a quick web search for ProRes, and it appears to be a proprietary codec for Apple devices. The only app I could find that appears to be able to play them on Windows is VLC. You might be dead in the water trying to stream them with Serviio.
