Hello,

I would like to use a media server to display various learning categories. I prefer not to use software like Kodi, as it requires extensive metadata scraping that I don't need.

Is it possible to instantly access the video categories when landing on the page? I would like to display a single media page with the following categories:

Basic Vocabulary
Thematic Vocabulary
Advanced Vocabulary
Common Phrases and Expressions
Parts of Speech
Sentence Structure
Tenses
Question Formation
Negation
...

Instead of using artwork for each video, I would like to display just the basic thumbnail of the video lesson.

I am considering organizing all videos containing the same content into corresponding folders, which would then be linked to the appropriate category.

Thank you for your help!

First, metadata extraction scan be disabled in Serviio. It can also generate a thumbnail image for each file.

The presentations cannot be customized as you desire. The existing presentations are geared towards commercially available titles that use metadata do place them in the proper category.

I do think you can accomplish your end result by using folders to the categories you desire, then limit your Serviio presentation to only show folders. You can also group the same category files in a playlist, and the playlist would have the groupings you desire.
