Re: Is Serviio project still alive

Yes, it is. Just be aware that Serviio is developed by one person, and he does have a life beyond Serviio. The next version is currently in beta testing, but I can't say when it will be released.

Hi,
Yes, I myself use several similar apps about one developer.
Here unfortunately there is not even approximate info what is in the preparation, stage of development.
Most of such projects offer for example a beta version for testing.
This project only offers a big silence and it's been two years.

Re: Is Serviio project still alive

The Serviio developer doesn't announce anything until he releases the next version. The current official version came out in Sept 22, so a bit more than 1.5 years. Beta versions are only announced to people who have signed up for beta testing. The current beta was released almost 3 months ago, so I would assume he's getting close to its release. But since he's half way around the world from me, it's not like we meet and chat about things. :) I don't know what his schedule looks like.

Re: Is Serviio project still alive

HI, 2.4 just released. Serviio is still alive, but as it's quite feature complete (for what I had the idea for it) the development is slower. Of course, if you have ideas, please post them to our issue tracker, as it'll be more visible than here on the forum.

Just wanted to say thanks for sticking by Serviio, zip, it has been amazing for me. Highly reliable and I love hosting my own files instead of streaming my music externally.
