I have read many articles on linux forums, none of which make any sense. My win7 machine (had Serviio on it, but it was attacked and basically OS waas destroyed, so I put mint 22 on machine).
PLEASE does anybody have very clear, concise instuctions (step by step) for installing Serviio on my Mint 22 Cinnamon machine
The getting started page on the Serviio.org web site (https://www.serviio.org/index.php?optio ... ticle&id=5) is pretty clear. I haven't spent any time in Linux for close to 20 years (yeah, it's been around that long) but I could still install Serviio without a hiccup. The important thing to remember is you must install Java yourself, as it isn't included in the Linux builds for Serviio.

Since you are a new user to Linux, just a friendly tip: ctrl+c to copy in the browser, but use ctrl+shift+v to paste into a terminal...
Installation procedure may seem long, but it only takes about 5 minutes, because it's just a large copy+paste job.

Just had to test something today on a Mint 22.1 system and a Linux Lite 7.2 system. The current Ubuntu procedures work on those distributions.
