been a very long time since I posted here.. serviio has been a good app for many years, there have been
problems but always able to get thing working.
1 or 2 questions
I just installed Os Ventura.. and Serviio will not run on it. also a new download would not install...
2. and it might make no difference, when I was still running Os Monterey, Serviio would not
see the exteran drive that my movies and music are stored on..

I know nothing about the Mac OS, so no clue about your problems with Ventura. But not being able to access external drives is virtually always a permissions issue. Again, I can't help with a Mac, but you need to ensure that whatever account Serviio uses to run on the computer has access to those drives. If there's symbolic links, those usually don't work either.

My work around was to make an alias folder on the internal drive.. that seemed to work...

Fixed the Ventura installer issue - download the new 2.3.1 version (only available for OSX, there are no other code changes since 2.3 so didn't bother to release it for other platforms)
