USB Stick - Mac

I'm sure the following betrays the fact I don't understand a lot about Serviio. However, I would appreciate a simple yes or no answer to the following: Is it possible to configure Serviio on my Mac to allow movie files on a USB stick to be added as a Shared folder?

I watch shared folders on a TV in a room in my home that is not where my Mac is located. I thought that I could create space on the Mac by putting those files on a USB stick and then watch them via Serviio from the stick.

Any other ideas if this won't work?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. External USB hard drives can be used, so a USB stick should as well.

Yes it works, but Serviio 2 won’t do it in Catalina. For some reason Catalina (with the latest beta’s), it won’t show external devices.

Yeah i like that, and this is the first time that external drives can’t be read. The newest safety precautions apple made will make it harder to share external drives.
