Can't add Router connected USB drive to Library

Hi All

I see quite a few posts about setting up NAS drives but my situation is not a NAS setup as I understand it.

I have a Panasonic Vierra TV which can see the Serviio Media Centre but no Library showing up yet.
I have a TP-Link Archer D9 with a USB HDD drive attached. The router has a built in Media Centre but the TV is particular about file formats and won't play many of the files recorded on a Topfield PVR. So, I thought the Serviio Media Centre might offer more options in serving the files to the TV.
I have the Serviio Media Centre installed on my desktop PC running Windows 10 Home.

I can access the HDD drive in my browser with ftp://192.168.1.1/volume(sda1)/
The router says the HDD can be shared by entering \\192.168.1.1 or \\192.168.1.1\photo; in the Windows Run dialog, which I have done and even mapped the drive, so I can access using Windows Explorer. I have tried various variations of this in the LIbrary setup of Serviio without success. I have even tried smb://192.168.1.1/volume(sda1)/Topfield which is the address for accessing these files on my Tablet.

I have also played around with editing the properties of the serviio services. I have tried various options here but without success.
Currently the log on is set to "This Account": Network Service. Password is set to the same as logging into the router.

I would appreciate some advice on resolving this.

Thanks, Greg

The most likely solution is to use your personal user account on the computer to run the Serviio service. You most likely are experiencing a permissions issue, and using your user account should resolve that. You can't use a mapped drive letter, so stick with the UNC (\\ip_address\share_name).

I did that and the router corrupted my files. It was a Linksys one but basically it doesn't have the power of nas or computer and was turning movies into unopenable folders of the same name. Back up the drive if you insist on this setup. Caused me a lot of headache.

Thanks for the help. I have now got it working. It was really the settings in the service that were the real issue. After tweeking the renderer profile, all my recordings seem to play on the TV now. Thanks for you help.
