Force scrape / metadata extraction
Some background info. I had a Synology 710+ but updated recently to a 716+ as there were reports of Plex transcoding OK with this new processor. I did have both Synology MediaStation & Plex DLNA running, but both had issues. MediaStation would not show up at all on Sony TVs unless bound to the first port (and then didn't show any content), and Plex DLNA implementation would just hang when you selected Movies/All folders and it tried to load up hundreds of videos....
So this weekend I installed Serviio, shutdown MediaStation, and disabled DLNA on Plex to see how I get on... (Serviio did not show up again on the Sony TV's unless bound to the second port - but at least it worked).
I installed the native java 8 package from Synology. I am just about to update to 8GB RAM, so not sure if it will be a big issue or whether I should still use the alternative embedded package as per the instructions....
After adding all my media I noticed that some of the artwork was not correct or not even present. I use MediaElche to organise my files, so I know each folder/file is correct, though I do have some old files manually put in as 'folder, jpg' which have been picked up over 'poster.jpg'.
So I am wondering how to 'fix' the metadata extracted? I see no way of doing this and the rescan option doesn't seem to do anything (assume this is just looking for new media). I can understand that in some of the folders it has picked up one image instead of the other, but for the ones showing no image I'm stumped. Both Plex and Kodi are picking up the NFO/images fine. It is worth noting that this is only in TV 'Series' and all the movies have been scraped fine.
So if anyone can point me in the right direction for fixing/rescanning the metadata/artwork it work be much appreciated.
One other thing I noticed. In the same vain, the artwork for an album artists seems to be that of the 'last file scanned'. To that end, the artist artwork can quite often be the image of a compilation media rather than the image from the artists media. It would be nice if I could edit these too....
Any help much appreciated.
