Lubuntu NTFS Mount cannot be read

Dear Sirs,

I have: Pentium 4 HT, Lubuntu 15.10, Serviio 1.6 Pro Evaluation, NTFS 1TB Sata hard drive.

I have managed to mount the NTFS 1TB Sata hard drive with permissions so that I could chown it (Recursively) with my user (equivalent of root on Lubuntu) and a group called "share" that has me and the serviio user as members. I went ahead and chmod'd it with read, write and execute permissions for user and group. I even made a Symlink to the folder I wanted to share and added that in the console under shared folders, but I still get that little ! mark by the folder saying "This folder is not currently available or cannot be read". Even if I chmod to others with o+rwxs on all the files in the mount, I still can't get Serviio to recognise the folders.

Oh and I put umask to 002 in /etc/login.defs to make writable default for groups.

Here's a listing of the files and folders in the mount:

  Code:
christopher@Dell5150:~$ ls -l /media/christopher/Dados/

Thanks in advance,

Re: Lubuntu NTFS Mount cannot be read

Sorry guys, I saw the post about posting and I realise I should have posted a log. But that's all academic now seeing as how, after I reentered windows 8.1, I had to rearrange the permissions because it had put everyone as deny, and after that my dual boot lubuntu went AWOL. Looks like I'm going to have to reinstall lubuntu (I hadn't really got started with it yet). I found an interesting link at the bottom of the serviio ubuntu install page about mounting windows partitions, so I'm going to give that a try.

Thanks anyway,

Christopher.

Re: Lubuntu NTFS Mount cannot be read

Looks like there was something wrong with the way I installed serviio the first time. Could be because I tried to install it twice.

I reinstalled lubuntu, installed serviio using the wiki and mounted the drive using the document in the link at the bottom of the page and everything is working fine now.

I'm so glad, cos I like Serviio. Might even buy the licence now!

Christopher.

P.S. Can someone tell me how I mark this thread as solved? It's not obvious and the F.A.Q. doesn't cover it.
