Indexing NAS Drive - Library Not Updating

I'm using Serviio 1.6 and am having an issue with changes to media stored on a NAS drive not being detected. The folders on the NAS drive don't require authentication so Serviio should be able to access them without issue and the status indicates that the Serviio service is running but changes to the media on the NAS drive (files being added, moved, etc) are not being reflected. Can anyone offer any assistance with where I should start in troubleshooting the issue?

Thanks,
Kris

Re: Indexing NAS Drive - Library Not Updating

What OS?
Anyway, it's generally one of two things:
If not the above than post a detailed log and let's see if that sheds any light.

Re: Indexing NAS Drive - Library Not Updating

Thank you for the reply. The OS is Windows 7 x64 and the NAS drive is a D-Link DNS 323. The NAS has no permissions (anyone on the network can access). I tried a forced refresh and will see if that corrects the issue but I did that a couple of times already. Couple of additional questions if you don't mind:

(1) If I want to add forced polling, are these the settings I would add to ServiioService.exe.vmoptions?
-Dserviio.forceLibraryPoller=true
-Dserviio.libraryPollerFrequency=15

(2) I plan to replace the NAS with a USB 3.0 drive connected directly to the system that Serviio is running on. Does Serviio (and/or Windows) generally have an easier time detecting changes on a USB drive or is it possible the same thing occur?

Thanks again,
Kris

Re: Indexing NAS Drive - Library Not Updating

If files are not updated after doing a forced refresh, it's likely to be a permissions issue: Check that the Serviio service (run service.msc) is logged on as a local user - by default it runs as the Local System Account which probably won't have access to your NAS. Change the user that Serviio logs on as to be a local user.

1) Yes, for a 15 minute polling frequency.
2) A USB drive is treated as a local drive, so you won't have the permissions issues you have on the NAS. So yes it's easier (however the change above is pretty easy as well ;)) .

Re: Indexing NAS Drive - Library Not Updating

Thanks again DenyAll. Files are updated after a forced refresh but changes (after the forced refresh finishes) aren't reflected. Based on what you've said, my guess is that the OS is having trouble detecting changes. I'll see what happens when I move everything to the USB drive. If it still doesn't work, I'll try the forced refresh.
