No, because the encryption on the disc will not allow the stream to be played on another computer. I don't know exactly how it works, but even sharing and mapping the DVD drive to another computer will not allow you to play the DVD on the remote computer.
Now if the DVD contains unencrypted files, then yes it should work. Just not commercial DVDs.
