Internet access

The server is working perfectly over the local network, but I am unable to access it over the internet.

I've configured port forward on the router for port 23424
Confirmed that my public address is static.
Thinking that maybe the firewall was blocking access, I configured a rule with windows firewall, and then tried putting kasperski in pause mode.

Still getting a "webpage not available" message.

Can someone please help me find what I'm missing?

Re: Internet access

Please show us the URL you are using to access Serviio from the Internet. Ensure port 23424 is opened on the firewall/router and port forwarding is pointing at the correct computer on your network.

Can you test your Internet access on the console successfully?

... and for me.

This suggests the remote network you are running it from (eg from work perhaps?) is blocking port 23424.

Re: Internet access

And it worked for me as well. And I'm behind a US Government firewall right now. :?

I was actually testing it on a workstation on the same network, but addressing it to the public IP. I remoted into one of the workstations that will be accessing the service, and lo and behold, it worked there. Obviously a firewall issue which will have to be resolved, but what's important is the fact that I can now access the movies remotely.

Thanks to all who responded.

I've tried accessing computers on the same network using a public address, and it can be problematic sometimes. Especially when specifying port numbers like this, sometimes the NAT function of the firewall gets confused. The solution of course is to use the internal IP address when on the same network.

Glad it is resolved for you. :)
