Serviio 1.5 does not start but 1.4 does

Hello,

Need some advice after upgrading to the latest Serviio version.

I am running win7, 64 bit and Serviio v1.4 works without fault. However after an upgrade to v1.5 the Serviio server starts then suddenly stops.
A manual start has the same affect -> service starts then stops. A delayed automatic start also makes no difference.

The one thing I have noticed is that the 'derby.log' file for the v1.5 version states: 'Shutting down Derby engine'
Could this be the source of my problem - anyone any ideas on things to try?

For reference I have attached the derby.log files for the v1.4 and v1.5 versions. The debug serviio.log file for the v1.5 version is also attached

Thanks

.. I guess it is the Serviio program which is actively shutting down the derby engine rather than derby being at fault.

Probably something to do with Java but without any detailed debug help from the serviio program it is difficult to be certain or know how best to proceed.

It is like working in the dark.

Unfortunately there appears to be numerous other posts on this forum regarding the same problem as I've described. Think I'll give up and go use some other program.

Well Serviio 1.6 installs and WORKS. Bit of a surprise given the non-working functionality of the previous versions.

Glad you have 1.6 working. Looking at the 1.5 logs, there appeared to be a problem starting the database, hence the service wouldn't start. Usually a reinstall takes care of that. Did you ever try reinstalling 1.5.2, or was it just a single install, then switch back to 1.4?

I know it's kind of a moot point now, but still might be worth knowing. Don't know why no one responded before.
