Cannot mach title with "." in it

Hi,
Serviio is a really nice tool but I stumbled accross a difficult case...
I want to match ".hack" as in http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=79099&lid=7 but the issue is no matter how I name the folder / files it always fails in different ways.

First I tried with the folder:
- Hack: it matches a tv serie by that name
- .hack: seems ignored by serviio, I suppose it only search for not hidden files

Then I tried with the files:
- hack_s01e01.avi : matched to the hack tv serie
- .hack_s01e01: this is what Filebot renamed my files to when I matched it but it is ignored (hidden file again I suppose since that's a Linux machine)

I also tried to add a tvshow.nfo but after fiddling around with it I quickly realized the file was completely ignored, after reading more on the forums I understand than it is either online metadata OR local xml files which is fine I suppose but if so how can I "hint" serviio to look for the right serie when the automatch fails miserably ?

I know perfectly well what the serie is, I just need a way to pass it to serviio to create the correct metadata :(

PS: I am running serviio on a Synology NAS.

I think this one may take development work to resolve (something like https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/i ... e-than-one). As I understand it anything after the "." is ignored by the filename -> metadata matching engine within Serviio.

Sometimes you can get a match by simply removing the "." from the filename but in this case it finds a valid match against a different series, so that won't work. So (unless anyone else knows something I am missing) at this stage I'm afraid these files will only appear under the "Folders" category in Serviio.

How about adding a year to the file name? I have one series that I had to do so (Anne of Green Gables (1985) S01E01 - Anne of Green Gables.mkv). Without the year I couldn't get the proper metadata.

I forgot to mention it but I tried to name the folder "Hack (2003)" but it didn't help, I don't remember if I tried to add it in the filenames, I will try again.

I have a similar problem with the show Black-ish. I have to rename the show to blackish for it to work but it would be nice if it could ignore special characters before the S0xE0x in the filename.

Good suggestion - have created a ticket: https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/i ... de-special expanding it a little to cater for movie titles. Probably not as applicable to movies as from version 1.5 you can always nail these by adding the IMDB ID to the file name.
