Difference between Free and Pro version of Serviio

Quote from website: There is also a paid for Pro edition which further enhances the possibilities of sharing content in your connected household. So what exactly are the differences? Surely any 'device' connected to a 'file-store' streaming is a 'connected household'. Before I purchase the 'Pro' version I would like to know exactly what the differences are. I must admit, after playing with Serviio for a day, I am reasonably impressed although without a manual and decent help files, I am finding it unnecessarily uphill to go from 'I have got it working' to 'now I need to make it work in a more sensible way', especially since its library manager appears to more orientated to mobile devices than huge media libraries, NAS, distributed Smart TVs and a fully interconnected household.

Re: Difference between Free and Pro version of Serviio

After you've reviewed the differences, be aware that unless you are using the web playback interface (MediaBrowser) or making use of the other additions, there is no difference between versions for simple DLNA playback via a Smart TV, Blu-Ray player, or other media playback device. The Pro version does not "improve" this function. It is already one of the most outstanding DLNA servers available.

Personally, even though I don't make use of any of the Pro additions (other than maybe using MediaPlayer from my hotel when traveling, assuming I have enough bandwidth from the hotel network  ), I still paid for the Pro version because Zip deserves some compensation for his outstanding work on this product. The effort I have seen him make to resolve issues and improve the product makes him outstanding in my book. And I don't even know him, since he's a long ways away from where I live!
