Will Canon MTS Format Play??

I have a Canon digital camcorder and about 3-4 years of HD .mts files that were recorded using this camcorder. I noticed on this page on the Serviio site, http://www.serviio.org/features, that MPEG-2 TS (.ts, .m2ts) are supported but no mention was made of .mts files. Before I take the time to download and setup Serviio, can anyone tell me if my .mts files will play on a new Sony Bravia TV using Serviio on a Windows 7 or Windows Vista PC?

Thanks in advance for the help!!!!

Re: Will Canon MTS Format Play??

They should. You might have to rename them to .mpeg or .ts or .m2ts.

To be sure you could post ffmpeg -i for one of the videos

I am new to Serviio so I am not sure what this means - "To be sure you could post ffmpeg -i for one of the videos" - could someone tell me what the ffmpeg -i means and what I need to do?

Thanks!!!

I think I figured out the ffmpeg -i... here is what I did. Let me know if more is needed and what I need to do to provide the requested additional detail.

Opened CMD prompt

Re: Will Canon MTS Format Play??

Updated this post with more info:

- I have finally been able to get Serviio installed and running after a few challenges.
- I have added the shared folders for the .mts videos using the Console. I see the folders on my TV but once I drill into the folder, the TV says, "There are no items to display." Not sure if this means I didn't set something up correctly or if the .mts files will not play.
- I can see jpg files just fine on the TV. Haven't tried music yet.
- I tried adding .avi files to a Shared Folder that was already showing on the TV and the same folder that has .jpg files that I can see and did a force refresh but the .avi never came up on the TV
- I tried adding .avi files from a folder that is on a mapped network drive via the shared folders tab in Serviio Console - no luck there either - can't not see the files
- I can see the videos in the MediaBrowser but they don't show on the TV

My questions are:
- Why can't I see any of the video files on the TV?
- Is this a sharing or permissions issue of some sort?

Config: Win7 64bit PC, Sony Bravia TV

Re: Will Canon MTS Format Play??

What does your shared folders tab in the console look like?

For shared drives, read the FAQ - it's probably access rights issue.

Which profile are you using for the TV?
