View Seviio in Windows 7 via VLC

I am trying to view Servio via VLC 2.1.2. to no avail

I followed the wiki instructions to the letter but clicking on Local Network Universa Plug and Play there is no response. A double click crashes VLC.

I have plug ins for SkySportsPlus, Twitch and IPlayer

Serviio 1.4, Java jve7 and VLC 2.1.2 are all installed in the programme(86) folder.

Serviio Console initiates correctly with PC and Admin Manager confirms that the process is running.

I could not find a link to a similar problem on the forum but surely it is not unique.

Regards

Thank you but no - I wait much longer - I see serviio connection on my netbook but no links either.

I tried reloading VLC but no change.

Thank you anyhow.

Hi,

I also had this problem. I turned out that my network settings in Windows 7 made VLC not see serviio: I had a loopback network interface defined. As soon as I disabled this loopback in Windows 7, VLC was finally able to see serviio and play its media.

No; I have a direct link to the internet that otherwise works fine - I am doing a number of checks at the moment but the set up looks OK and no firewall is blocking and I have followed the Bob Willis instructions on Youtube.

Just no luck with anything.

My local files come up OK on pc and netbook but I have not been able to obtain any wi fi streams on either vlc or Serviio Console.

All available groovy files are in the plugin folder.

When checking the stream in console I always get the red cross and the check internet connection does not work although I inserted a correct router address.

my normal wi-fi links work ok.

I tried reloading files in 32 bit form in the same programme folder but no change.

I must be doing something wrong but no idea what.
