Burned-in subtitles not working with KDL-60R550A

Whenever I check the box to "Enable burned-in subtitles", my Sony KDL-60R550A won't play any videos that either have embedded subs or contain a SRT file in the same directory. When trying to view videos in these cases, the TV gets stuck for 30+ seconds then just says unable to play video. If I uncheck the box for "Enable burned-in subtitles", the videos play perfectly (but without subtitles). Unfortunately, the TV also doesn't appear to like subtitles that aren't burned-in. It always says subtitles are not available, if I try to enable them on the TV.

Can anybody point me in the right direction to either fix burned-in subtitles or get my TV to show the external subtitles? Below is a Serviio debug log taken while attempting to play a video which contains embedded subtitles when "Enable burned-in subtitles" is checked. I've also provided ffmpeg -i info and mediainfo data for the same video file. I've tried using both the ffmpeg.exe that comes with Serviio 1.3 and the latest Zeranoe build. Both behave the same way. I am using the "Sony Bravia TV (2012) - US" profile. I've tried others with no change in behavior.

I ran the following command and it took 3-4 minutes to successfully rip the embedded subtitles out of the MKV.

I would guess that this rip of the embedded subs taking so long is what's causing the transcoding to fail and my TV to not display the video. However, I see the same problem if I use an external SRT file. So, I wouldn't think that'd be the cause.

Does "E:\Downloads" is an external or local drive.
On FAQ, you can read this :

WARNING: Embedded subtitles might not work for some (large) files, due to the time needed to extract them. It's even more true if the file is stored on a remote drive.

It's a local drive. Also, that doesn't explain why the same failure occurs when using external SRT files.

Yes please

Version 1.3.1 fixed burned-in subtitles when a SRT file is available. The video files still fail to play if extraction of embedded subtitles is enabled, though. Anything I can gather to help you fix embedded subtitles?

As stated above, if it takes a long time to extract them it'll fail. Until FFmpeg rework the way burned in subs work, that's all I can do.
