Aggregate all the streams from network IP cameras and provide to a DLNA client using SERViiO. I've looked at a lot of upnp/dlna server software and none have this feature.

That would be completely different idea and nothing to do with serviio DLNA media server, as that would be a security program and not entertainment.

Why would you want to do that? To monitor your house? I agree a dedicated monitoring solution would probably suit you better.

I was thinking more in line with checking the webcams on the beach or on the ski slopes to see the conditions... not security monitoring. Some of the DLNA server has weather stats & forecasting and such.. why not a real-time stream of your favorite cam on the beach or slopes. Well.. i guess it would be monitoring but not for security.

ah, so they would not be installed by you, but you want to be able to view a video stream, right? If that's the case then hopefully 0.6 will deliver something like that.

Well... if my back yard was more aesthetically pleasing than a brick wall I might consider viewing it as "entertainment" through my own IP cam.. but I'd rather search the web for cams that have more pleasing views. My own cam would be neat but beach resorts and ski resorts are more to my liking. I work in an urban area and there is neither view unless you go to the web. I guess someone that gets out of the city on the weekends could watch a webcam all week to see the snowfall or check the conditions before heading out. Or bring up the feed on giant flat screen & toss back a cold one

I understand that other feature requests will garner more interest. Just thought a video feed from a cam coming in as H.264, MJPEG, etc. might be able to be integrated with SERViiO and folks would like it and find it useful. Didn't think about security monitoring when I initially posted...

+1. I too would like to be able to view my cameras' feeds on the TV. Each feed separately is Ok, but the ability to aggregate them into a single feed would be nice too — they are usually small-resolution anyway, one can view 6 640x480 feeds on a 1920x1080 screen...

The two cameras I currently use support RTSP (username/password protected) and use a fairly obscure G.726 audio codec.

I have some IP cameras which will be very nice to see on TV. My cameras are accessible using mjpeg and I can record the data using

ffmpeg -f mjpeg -i "http://10.0.10.152:44002/videostream.cgi?user=XXXX&pwd=YYYY" .....

maybe next version can access this too, making possible to configure ffmpeg input options to be transcoded to the TV formats.

What about a camera at your door someone is there and you want to see who it is? (And if to bother going answering it)

buy a security camera that what they are designed to do
