Hi, I'm currently running serviio 0.6.0.1 on a Synology DS 211+ box.
I installed the package provided on the net. Now, I would like to update to 0.6.1.

As I'm a noob, could you please let me know how to do it? :?

Thanks,

DS211

To upgrade without a new PKG requires a bootstrapped Synology. What I did is:
1) Download new files to /public
2) untar them
3) copy them to the installed directory of Serviio (/volume1/@appstore/Serviio)
4) Updated the version number in "/volume1/web/serviio/config.php" to 6.1 iso 6.0.1

Please note that I am experiencing troubles with the package itself (see my other post on this forum). But the problems I refer to there were already present before I did the upgrade. I hoped the upgrade would solve the troubles. Apparently not..... Anyway, everything described above is at your own risk ;)

I tried to follow your steps, but then the serviio icon doesn't appear anymore and I can't start the packet in the packet manager.
Any ideas about that?

patters is on holidays atm, but he has the package ready so I'd assume he'll release it very soon.

@DS212: Hmm..... don't know where it goes wrong, because I have it working here and still have the Serviio icon in the Package Manager (although it refers wrongfully to 0.6.0.1). I am also able to start and stop the service. The actual running service is 0.6.1 though.

If it only takes a few days for patters to return from holidays, I suggest you wait for him to release the package.
