Some people don't like the DLNA servers that come with their NAS device. Serviio offers a lot of customization that most other DLNA server products don't offer. Serviio Pro version also offers MediaBrowser, for accessing your media via the Internet, as well as an API that permits other software to access it. It all depends on your needs and wants.

Video station in my opinion is a turd. Very little customization and control on presentation, folder structuring, browsing features, limited cover sizes.....the list goes on.
