Is there any timeline for QPKG serviio 1.6 release ? I`m using Qnap TS-251 and I would like to try the new Serviio DLNA client. I already read that on QTS 4.2 older version of serviio are having issues thats why I would like to wait for a new release. Thank you !!

I'm currently working with Qnap support on an official Qnap release. You should get notification from the App Center when it's live (hopefully it'll work like that )

It was always supported when used with the right profile. Maybe only certain file types, but it's up to the TV.

I couldn`t wait so I set up virtual Windows 7 on my Qnap and installed the Serviio 1.6 for windows. Works perfect. I set it up for my Samsung TV C series and it supports playback resume. Now I cannot wait to get the qpkg version up and running as having virtual windows running on my NAS is a bit pain in the a..e. It eats up most of my RAM...

QNAP support is a real SHIT.
I haven't been able to stream any content from my NAS since it's 4.2 update, four months ago, either with their software nor using Twonky. I'm really upset.
I hope that Serviio will solve this, if so I'll probably buy a pro license, thats fair.

The package passed their testing and will be released with 1.6.1 within the week.

I'm more than four months without any working Media Streaming solution... I hope that Serviio will solve this!

As far as my understanding from reading Zip's message he says that he will upload 1.6.1 to Qnap Servers when it actually gets released for all the other versions of Serviio. Only 1.6 is out atm. and 1.6.1 is not yet released?
Thats my understanding any case. More work goes on behind our backs than what we know.
I'm perfectly ok with 1.5 atm, but would love that peace of mind that it will update in future by itself. and not a lot of coding etc. Please dont release Beta.. this might just stop this process us Qnap Owners have been waiting for SO long. Just my Pennies worth.
But it does feel like a long week....

1.6.1 is out now, hopefully there will be a Qnap Version till 1.7....

1.6.1 build is with them, it should be just a quick re-test and it should appear in their store in a few days

Last time they said they have a 5 days of holidays in China... so ...

Why do we have to wait for them to distribute the package? Is there an upside? It's not this way for other distributions, right?
