Online library trolling Dr Who

Looks like the library is totally mixing up Dr Who. I'm pretty confident that the filenames match accepted standards, still the library is filled with wrong title names (The Angels Take Manhattan -> The Bells of St John etc.). This is BAD. I don't even want to get started on how the library mixes up my Battlestar Galactika collektion, doctor says I should cut back on nerdrage.

Is there anything I can do to make it easier for the online lookup routine diva?

Dear community, thanks for the support.

Re: Online library trolling Dr Who

If you go to thetvdb.com and look up your Doctor Who episode you will find that season 7 episode 6 is "The Bells of St John". Serviio searches thetvdb.com for the episode based only on the series title (Doctor Who), the year if present (2005) and the season and episode number. The final part of the file name (in your case the episode title) is not used for searching purposes.

So Serviio is reporting the right episode title based on the episode and series numbers contained within your file name, as it is listed in thetvdb.com. I assume you have confirmed that the file actually contains the episode "The Angels take Manhattan" so the most likely reason is (a) that your file has had the episode number set in accordance with the episode number on the DVD, rather than the original air date (thetvdb.com lists episodes by aired date - see http://thetvdb.com/wiki/index.php/DVD_Order) or (b) the episode numbers in your filename are based on the air dates in a diferent country or (c) the episode number on the file is simply just wrong (but the title is right).

In any case, the only methods that I know of to fix the issue is to go through all your files and rename them with the season and episode number that matches that listed in thetvdb.com, or alternatively create your own metadata files (.nfo files). Either way is painful.
